About

Hannah Standhaft is the debut author of the new Conspiracy of Shadows romantic fantasy series. During her college years, Hannah’s artistic journey experienced a significant shift following the passing of her beloved maternal grandmother. This pivotal moment led Hannah to transition into professional business writing after first working as a veterinary nurse.

Despite the “allure” of business writing, Hannah has long dreamed of becoming a fiction author. As a child, she delighted in crafting intricate narratives for her Barbie dolls, immersing herself in a realm of imaginative shenanigans. In 2025, she finally put those adventures into her very own book.

A native of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, Hannah now resides in North Carolina with her family. Her interests extend beyond writing; she is an avid reader, a karaoke enthusiast, and a passionate advocate for stray cat rescue. With a unique blend of creativity, chaos, and sincerity, Hannah invites those who share her insatiable literary appetite to join her on this journey.

While she can often be found with her nose in a book, Hannah’s other spare time is spent doom-scrolling and looking for new book recommendations to add to her ever-growing TBR list. Connect with her on social media for updates and event news.

Plot Twists and Personal Facts

Hannah and her family have been involved in stray cat rescue in their local community since 2018. They’ve trapped (including a daring rescue jumping into a storm drain) and found homes for over 200 stray cats and kittens since then (and have a few foster fails)!

Hannah is a classically trained opera singer (first soprano) and self-taught pianist! She has performed countless times, including the shot above taken in Washington, D.C. for a room of 800+ work colleagues while sick with the flu (talk about a stressful performance review).

Hannah is passionate home improvement DIYer. Her DIY accomplishments are only outnumbered by her DIY injuries. In the photo above, she installed the floors, curtains, and painted the walls (thankfully injury free [this time])!
